ABSTRACT The objective of this work was to determine the composition and evaluate in vitro vivo effects essential oils (Lippia sidoides Cham., Ocimum gratissimum L., Cymbopogon citratus Stapf., selloi Benth., Citrus sinensis micranthum Willd., sp., Piper aduncum L.) on control Fusarium rot melon fruits, caused by fungus pallidoroseum. were obtained hydrodistillation their chemical determined GCMS GC-FID. effect each oil (concentrations 0, 500, 1500, 3000µL L-1) fungal mycelial growth evaluated experiment. effective concentration that inhibited 50% (EC50) through probit method; index (MGI) also calculated. with higher potential for inhibiting F. pallidoroseum inhibitory spore germination experiments using fruits (variety Galia). Chemical analysis enabled identification varying amounts compounds, predominance monoterpenes. L. sidoides, O. gratissimum, C. citratus, presented germination, therefore, they are promising raw materials development commercial fungicides, mainly controlling postharvest
